Doctoral Fellow 2021-22

AYONDELA MCDOLE is currently a doctoral candidate in Cultural Studies at George Mason University and an instructor of record in the Women and Gender Studies and African/African American Studies departments. Her dissertation is an ethnographic study of the workforce that supports the tourism industry and the exploitative nature of high-end tourism in the world today.

“During the JMJP Fellowship, I conducted four oral histories, cleaned out the Chipman Center, and helped to recover and preserve the collected works and artifacts of the center. My future plans are to continue collecting oral histories and amplifying voices whenever and wherever I can.”
