Chief of Staff
As Cheif of Staff, Rev. Kevin A. Brown II serves in numerous support roles at the JMJP including, advising the Executive Director, facilitating strategic planning, programs and partnerships, and budget planning.
Rev. Brown graduated from the University at Albany (SUNY) where he majored in History with minors in Political Science and Judaic Studies. Kevin also studied abroad at the University of Haifa in Haifa, Israel (Spring 2010).
Kevin pursued the Master of Divinity degree at Vanderbilt University Divinity School in Nashville, TN and graduated in 2015. While in divinity school he participated in various organizations including the Black Seminarians, The Honor Council and the Antoinette Brown Lecture Committee. At Vanderbilt, he shared in international social-justice projects such as, “Traversing Our National Wound” along the U.S.-Mexico border, which explored the ethical and theological implications of U.S. immigration and economic policy (2012); “Project Pyramid” in Kathmandu, Nepal where alongside graduate students in education and business consulted on job-creation and environmentalism (2013).
In 2013 Rev. Brown was selected as a Seminary Fellow by the Museum for Jewish Heritage’s Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics (FASPE) in Poland and Germany.
Rev. Brown has served as Lead Pastor of congregations in Chapel Hill, NC; Hartford, CT; and Galveston, TX. He is an ordained elder in Full-Connection in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
