ARCH Fellow

Sydney was a fieldwork partner with our Maryland Lynching Oral History Initiative and Oral History Lab. She designed, scheduled, and held interviews with descendants of George Armwood—who was lynched in Princess Anne, Maryland in 1933—and John Mitchell, Jr.

Sydney is currently earning her Master’s in Oral History from Columbia University. Sydney graduated from Cornell University in 2018 with a degree in American Studies, focus in Media and Society, and minor in English.  Sydney hopes to integrate her background in facilitation, history, and media with her oral history degree to further understand how we can transform systems of listening, communication, and co-learning.
